Our professional carpenter will not only build it to last but bring a key eye for design to your project.
We will build your fence straight as an arrow, parallel with the property, on the property line or on the desired property. Your fence posts will be plumb with each other and the posts will be level to the ground.
If your existing fence is ready to fall to the ground or your property is without a fence and desperately needs one, give Calgary’s best fence building contractor a call today.
Each quality fence starts with post that have been buried at least 3 feet deep. Thereafter, each posthole receives at least 2 bags of concrete to achieve rigidity and longevity. Our posts are then braced to ensure they remain level and plumb to our stringline, while we wait for the concrete ti dry. Once the concrete has dries, it is now time to build your best wood fence.
In Calgary zoning by laws allow you to have your fence as tall as:
- 1.2 meters (4 feet) in the front yard.
- And, up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) in the rear yard.
- And gates cannot exceed 2.5 meters (8.2 feet).
In choosing the height of your fence you may wish to consider the aesthetics and architecture of the existing neighbourhood and their fences. Building a 6.5 foot fence next to 2 fences that are only 5 feet may not be appropriate. Whereas most new developments believe bigger is better, and prefer less contact from their neighbours.
Choosing your thickness of wood is only as important as determining how much wiggle is acceptable. The narrower the post, then the more wiggle room there is. So, a 4X4 post offer the most wiggle, whereas a 6X6 post gives the least amount of wiggle. Wiggle room is a consideration when there is not enough wind block in your neighbourhood. This more of an issue for a new neighbourhood, whereas a more mature neighbourhood has trees and other structure offering wind block.
Which style suits your style? Would you appreciate a traditional 3 crossbar with a single top rail, and vertical fence boards (Fortress)? Or do you appreciate a more modern fence with horizonal fence beds, with selection of widths, and the posts 6 feet on centre?
