TREE LIGHTING

  • Evergreens

  • Deciduous

Tree lighting can be achieved with either small bulbs (C3 or C6) or large bulbs (C7 or C9). However, there are situations when one type of bulb will look better over another. But if you are ever in doubt choose C6 lighting. The C6 lighting produces the most light per linear foot and is better suited to trees because of it’s smaller bulb size.

EVERGREEN TREE

There is no “Best” lighting for this tree. It will come down to personal preference but I would suggest if your evergreens are still quite small your preference should be the smaller C6 bulbs. And in the case that you are not sure go with the smaller C6 bulbs because they will produce more light per linear foot.

DECIDUOUS TREE / LEAFY TREE

The best lighting for leafy trees is the smaller C6 lights. The bulbs are smaller and accent the branches much better than the heavier C7 or C9 bulbs. Heavier bulbs have a tendency to look awkward by making branches look saggy.

Whether you prefer trunk wraps or successive elliptical spirals the smaller bulb is proportionally suited to leafy trees. There are exceptions to this but for the most part the above will hold true 90% of the time.
